On Wednesday, October 16th, just before Fall Break, Foxboro Elementary students made a strong showing in the Davis School District’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Speech Contest. This year, a record-breaking 35 students participated, marking the highest level of involvement Foxboro has ever seen.
Each year, students across the district memorize and recite an excerpt from one of Dr. King’s powerful speeches, presenting it in front of their peers as part of a school-wide contest. Winners from each school then advance to compete at the district level against students in their age group, keeping Dr. King’s words and vision alive.
This year’s Foxboro winners are as follows:
K-2: Serafina C. with "We Shall Overcome"
Grades 3-4: Elisabeth F. with "I Have a Dream"
Grades 5-6: Eli J. with "What’s in Your Life’s Blueprint"
This increased participation at Foxboro reflects the dedication of our students and the lasting impact of Dr. King’s message. We are proud of each participant for their hard work, passion, and commitment to making their voices heard.
