Letter from our New Principal: Shelly Truelson
Dear Foxboro Parents and Students,
I am thrilled to have been appointed principal of Foxboro Elementary and am excited about the opportunity to continue to work with such a vibrant and engaged community. I would also like to introduce Miss Morgan Tate, our new assistant principal.
All About Me: I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher, so when the time came, I began my journey out west to attend Utah State University, became an Aggie, and earned my degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I was hired as a 1st-grade teacher in the Davis School District and thus began the amazing journey I have been on. I taught 1st grade for 8 years, was a Literacy Instructional Coach for 4 years, and an Elementary Assistant Principal for 6 years. I will begin my 19th year in education this year and 1st as Elementary School Principal. I currently reside in Bountiful with my husband (Amon), son (Dailey), and two beautiful pups (Calliope and Maximus). I love to read, watch movies, and enjoy time in the sunshine!
Since I began as the Assistant Principal at Foxboro Elementary two years ago, the staff, students, and community have shown great strength, growth, and resilience. The data shows significant increases in students' reading and math growth and proficiency this past academic school year. In reading, our school increased 8% in proficiency and had a 9% increase in student growth. In math, our school increased 5% in proficiency and had a 16% increase in student growth. The most heartwarming data piece is that our amazing students at Foxboro Elementary earned 5,762 Kindness Coins this past year. This means that our students displayed respect, followed expectations, as well as completed acts of kindness an average of 32 times a day! These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and students, and I am so proud of everyone who worked hard each day to ensure everyone is learning and growing!
Rest assured, we will build on past successes and strive for even greater achievements. Together, we will continue the great work that has been happening here at Foxboro and reach new heights as a team! I am deeply grateful for the support and dedication of our community, and I look forward to our continued collaboration.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Shelly Truelson

Letter from our Assistant Principal: Morgan Tate
Dear Foxboro Elementary School Families and Students,
I hope this message finds you well and I'm looking forward to the start of the new school year. My name is Morgan Tate, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Foxboro Elementary School.
All about me: I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and at a young age was adopted and moved to Utah. I grew up here in Davis County. From a young age I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I had an impactful 4th grade teacher who inspired me. I attended Weber State University for my undergraduate degree. Go Wildcats! I attended Southern Utah University for my Masters Degree. Go Thunderbirds! After graduation from Weber State, I started teaching 1st grade in Davis School District. I moved down to St. George for an adventure and taught 1st and 4th grades. I love sports, outdoor adventures, traveling, working out, reading, and spending time with my family, friends and Goldendoodle Rocco. I recently moved back to Davis County, and I am incredibly excited to join such a vibrant and dedicated community of educators, students, and families here at Foxboro Elementary. I am deeply committed to supporting every student’s journey towards academic success and personal growth.
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I want to assure you that my priority is to ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where each student can thrive. I am eager to work collaboratively with our talented faculty and staff to uphold the high standards of education that Foxboro Elementary is known for. Go Falcons! In the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know our students and families better.
As we embark on this journey together, I am confident that we will make this school year a memorable and successful one for our students. Thank you for your warm welcome and support. I am truly excited to be a part of the Foxboro Elementary School community!
Warm regards,
Ms. Morgan Tate, M. Ed
